This Morning Routine Will Improve Your Mood
Ayurveda Morning Routine
Having a consistent morning routine can significantly uplift your mood and provide you with the inner strength and clarity needed to effectively navigate and conquer the challenges of the day. Starting your day with a mindful routine sets a positive tone and enables you to approach each day with a sense of focus and purpose.
It is beneficial to wake up at or before 6 am as this practice aligns your body clock with the natural rhythm of the sunrise, allowing you to harmonize with nature's energy for a more balanced and invigorating start to your day.
Wash your face and brush your teeth. This will freshen you up.
Do pranayama and yoga as per your dosha for 15-20 minutes. Vata can do light yoga, Pitta may do moderate and kapha people may do vigorous yoga.
Drink water. Avoid caffeine on empty stomach as this will cause acidity or light headedness during the day. You may have tea or coffee later with your breakfast.
Clean tongue 7-10 times with a tongue scraper. Swish some organic coconut or sesame oil in your mouth for 2-5 minutes.
Do self-abhyanga (body massage) 15 minutes before taking a shower. You may use sesame or olive oil for vata type, coconut oil for pitta and mustard oil for kapha type.
Take a shower and apply some mild natural fragrance. This uplifts your senses.
Take a few moments to reflect on your aspirations and visualize how you wish to structure your day. Consider what you hope to achieve and how you can make the most of the present moment.
Planning your day mindfully can contribute to a profound sense of purpose and fulfillment, allowing you to approach each task with heightened energy and clarity, thereby propelling you closer to achieving your goals. Moreover, this conscientious approach to planning will not only benefit your mental well-being, but also promote the overall health of your body and mind.
